Windspeed- Twin cam delight
The Windspeed is just such a nice sail to use, you cant help but smile when your out sailing on it. We have kept this design as user friendly as possible with a nice narrow luff tube, 2 cams and 5 battens its a very physically light sail as well as being a very light feeling sail. Waterstarts, gybes, tacking and anything that involves holding the rig (ummm that will be sailing full stop then...) is made easier by this. The very first sailor to try the prototype sail ordered and paid for 2 the minute he got off the water, which was a pleaseant surprise- normally we expect to have to do a bit of tweeking of the design first- but these have just come out pretty much spot on right off. The above Pic shows Kirsty sailing the 7.2 in Tarifa on the Kona Surf board, seemed quite a nice set up, allthough matthew prefers to be using a much lighter board where the acceleration onto the plane and general handling of the windspeed can really shine. These sails have been designed for use with the current crop of medium sized freeride boards. The 8.2 and 9.5 Windspeeds, pictured below, are available in a specific longboard cut(as well as the normal cut). In this version the sail is cut with a flatter luff round and more shape up high in the sail allowing you to drive the heavier long race or Kona style boards better and harder.
