Witchcraft boards are designed in the north of Fuerteventura by
Bouke Becker. For years they have only been available as full on
custom boards, but in 2007 a new production facility and a huge
demand has seen the inception of Witchcraft series, the quality
design and build of a custom brand with the availability of a production
setup.
Shape features
Parabolic Fast Rocker-
Early planing, Top Speed, control, ease of sailing, controlled responsiveness.
Progressive Rail Shape-
Maneuvrability, speed, early planing, control, total grip.
Drop Shape-
Early planing, control and maneuverability
Tri Fin-
Early planing, upwind ability, maneuvrability, drive. To give the highest performance.
Single Fin-
Top control at high speeds, old school lean back sailing.
Bottom Shape-
Inverted V- early planing, grip, responsiveness, control.
Swallow Tail-
Grip and drive.
The (r)evolutionary progressive rail shape gives Witchcraft boards
the advantage in all around sailing performance over any other boards.
This rail shape gives an extra 2cm of rocker when putting the board
over on its rail which means witchcraft have been able
to reduce the rocker of the planing area by more than 10mm compared
to traditional or new age wave boards, without losing any maneuverability!
In the rear half the rail becomes sharp, adding to early planing,
speed, grip and responsiveness to turning, These boards carve and
turn in an amazing way, carrying speed and power through bottom
turns like no other, and the cutback…….the cutback is
to die for, hard tight and gouged.
Witchcraft Tri fin system: With more fin area and
less leverage the tri-fin set up significantly improves performance
in less than ideal conditions(light wind, on shore, smaller, shorter
waves or currents). Earlier planing, better upwind performance, more
maneuvreability, more drive, more fun, the tri fin does it all.
With the use of blanking plates the board can still be converted
to single fin for lean back-blasting or big wave down-the-line wave
sailing. For anything else the tri fin is the best. You can catch
more waves and do more with them.

The Drop Shape Outline is relatively short and
has an intermediate width, a wider nose and a narrower tail, this
gives a big windrange combined with good maneuvrability and a long
railline for hard bottom turns. For 2008 the Outline has been redesigned, the boards have become 2cm shorter. The max. width has increased and moved forward but the tail and nose have become narrower. This makes the board more manoeuvrable and controlable so you can link more tight high speed turns together, no matter whether it´s on or cross shore. Planing and upwind ablity have remained as good as they allready were. This gives a big windrange combined with good manoeuvrability and a long railline for hard bottom turns The swallow tail gives grip and
drive.
The bottom shape is an iverted V, This shape combines the drive and grip of a mono concave with the shock absorbing effect a normal V bottom gives. The boards have become more responsive and have more drive and control through the turn. It is a little more technical to sail and less good for sliding freestyle moves than the 07,s.
Wider stance: Higher performance, more drive, more
control, more maneuvrability.
To summarise Witchcraft boards are nearly as early planing and able
to point high as fast-tail/ freestyle-wave boards, they are as controllable,
grippy and radical as side-shore wave boards and as maneuverable
and easy to sail as “compact style” wave boards.
You simply don´t need 3 ranges of waveboards as with the Witchcraft
series you have it all in a single range

Construction-
- A board is only as strong as its weakest component. All of our constructions are very efficient by carefully choosing materials and lay-up with a similar elasticity so they all work together in harmony. Witchcraft have developed and fine tuned the construction of their boards over many years to try and avoid practically all damage.
All boards are semi-custom built with overlaps on rails and single, double or triple sandwich depending on the area, all tapered into each other to avoid weak points. The boards are built in Witchcrafts own factory in Bulgaria by Witchcraft trained staff who are also fanatical windsurfers. This insures our construction to remain secret and our weight and shape tolerances to be the lowest in the industry.
There are 2 constructions available:
- SDT.-H-glass (50%), Carbon (15%),Dyneema® (5%)-epoxy-Single-Double-Triple sandwich. 1 year guarantee*. With full H-glass on top and bottom, overlapping on the rails.
H-glass is a new fabric with patented hollow glass fibres. It is 40% lighter and more impact and pressure resistant. For the first time available in production boards. H-glass based composites are very efficient in shock absorbing.
- HDD.-Dyneema® (60%)-Carbon (15%)-glass-epoxy-single-double-triple sandwich. The famous Heavy Duty Dyneema® construction with 18 months guarantee*. With full Dyneema on top and bottom, overlapping on the rails. Another first from Witchcraft, the specialists in full Dyneema boards for over 10 years.
About H-glass
H-glass is a new patented microscopically hollow glass fibre. It is 40% lighter and 32% more pressure resistant (creasing is the main cause for board breaking) than traditional e-glass. H-glass based composites also serve as a very efficient shock absorber. H-glass is the best alternative to dyneema for use in wave boards, especially for spots without rocks.

About Dyneema
In 1994, under the tough demands of the conditions on Fuerte, Witchcraft started using Dyneema® as the main fibre in their boards. Dyneema is the strongest fibre on the market. It is very light, even lighter than water but has a very high tenacity and energy absorption. Still it is stiffer than Aramid and Glass fibre, being slightly more flexible than Carbon. It also has a longer flex life and is not as brittle as carbon or glass. It doesn’t absorb water, nor is it affected by UV light.
